Las Vegas

This is Lucy and Donna, her tennis teammate. They won their match in a third set tie breaker 14-12 at the 2008 Women's Senior USTA tennis championships! Their team came in 5th place out of the nation.
Check out that form.
Look at that focused attention.

It was pretty from the hotel room, especially at night with all the downtown city lights.

We had a PT cruiser for a rental.
We spent some time at the strip. The Bellagio casino water and sound presentation was amazing. But we weren't too impressed with the strip otherwise.

Pumpkin Patch

The family went to the Pumpkin Patch outside of Livermore. There were many bald heads there--some orange and some white (actually more precisely some were grey).
How do I get out of here?
Curtis has recently gained some weight. Doesn't he look good?

Someday Isaac will probably be that tall.
Curtis' happiest moments are with Isaac.

I'm stuck with this chew toy because they would not let me have a pumpkin.

Tavo Gets a Sword

Doesn't Tavo look fierce with his sword (and passivier)?

Monterey Kayaking

In spite of a forecast of rain we stayed dry kayaking in the Monterey Bay.
Here are some of our group of 28 people who braved the weather to check out the bay wildlife.

We saw some beautiful jellyfish. God certainly is a creative creator.
These guys had the rocks staked out.
Can you see this otter checking us out?

Tavo and family Photo Shoot

Tavo had a photo shoot. Isn't he a wonderful creation of God? And doesn't he have a tremendous Mom and Dad? (Yes! Yes! Yes!)

Isaac Photo Shoot

Isaac had a photo shoot at Walmart. Here they are. Isn't he an awesome looking guy? And if he could talk (which he sometimes does in a language hard to understand), he would say that his Mom and Dad are the best!

Renaissance Fair

For Lucy's birthday, we (Jason, Carolyn, Isaac and us) went to the Renaissance Fair. It was awesome (Curtis' opinion, others were not as thrilled).
The horses were friendly.

The jousting was the real thing. It looked like it was painful.

At the fair Curtis bought a scabbord holder.

Tavo Tours the WWII Midway Battleship

Trisha, Gustavo and Tavo toured the WWII Midway battleship. It looks like they had lots of fun. Maybe someday Tavo will fly a plane. Oh how wonderful to consider the awesome opportunities God has ahead for little Tavo.

Hands of Love

It was to be a special evening where Curtis would present Lucy with her wedding rings. The rings had to be repaired so Curtis wanted to make it a special romantic presentation for his beloved Lucy. Curtis made a card with the standard wedding vows and was set to take Lucy to a nice restaurant. But it was not to be.

On the way to the restaurant Curtis got a call from the rest home of his mom. His mom was sent to the emergency for choking problems. Lucy and Curtis quickly changed plans and ate a quick bite before going to the hospital. At the hospital they found mom just fine. They sat with her for the next two hours while they answered the same questions over and over and over. It was quite terrible.

Finally they left the hospital, got mom something to eat, took mom to her home, got her settled down for the night and finally sat alone in the car at the rest home parking lot.

Here Curtis gave Lucy the rings and card. They celebrated in the parking lot with some terrible cookies from Jamba Juice. Never eat the Jamba Juice brownies. It was not the totally romantic evening.

The hands have grown old together. They are now laced with wrinkles and signs of wear. But they understand each other and love each other much more than thirty years ago when they first held. Only God knows how much longer blood will flow through these veins but as long as there is life they will hold each other steadfast--yes, even in hospital emergency rooms.

Lucy + Curtis = Everlasting Love

Isaac in Jump Up

This beats the stairmaster at the 24 Hour Fitness Gym any day. What fun! We love Isaac.

Isaac's Dedication

Isaac is wearing his new "Getting Dedicated" clothes.
This is the infamous GreatGrandma 3-generation picture.
Here Isaac is being dedicated, soon after a major spit-up on Carolyn. Children are such masters of timing.

Here are Isaac, Carolyn and Jason with their pastor and pastor's wife. They are really nice people.
