Carolyn is getting a puppy!!

This is Saydee who will be arriving July 2 at the San Jose airport. She is coming from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Isn't she a cute Sheltie? Look for more pictures when she arrives!

Jason and Carolyn's New House

Here is their front yard. Isn't it pretty?
Eventually with Curtis' help this will be replaced with a beautiful pond.
This is their patio with a pool table. Lots of fun here. Not pictured is the side yard which is all brick.

Russian River

Lucy, Darcy, Briana, Jason, Carolyn, Eddie, Kerry, Catherine, Rob and Curtis went camping at the Cassini Ranch, which is located on the Russian River about five miles from the coast. It was an awesome time.

Curtis was finally able to relax.

Rob caught minows, which was the only fish anyone caught.

Catherine loved the water.

Briana was a bit cold by the river but enjoyed soaking up the rays.

Jason and Carolyn have been married for almost a year. Don't they look "in love."

Kerry was the life of the party. She managed to cut her toe at the beach and the nurse-to-be Briana patched her up.

The seals at the beach looked like they were pros at the "I'm relaxed mode."

All good vacations must end but they leave us better prepared for tomorrow and filled with a sense of God's glory.

Dye Wars

Curtis participated in the annual Dye Wars at Underground Junior High. Things got a little crazy. Click on the picture and you will open a page that has a slideshow of the event.

Monterey

Lucy, Curtis and Darcy went with the church group on a long walk from Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey to Lover's Point. Then they returned, had lunch in a cafe on the way back and ended up back at the wharf. God sure made a beautiful creation.

Briana is home from the Philippines

Briana is now home and recovering from the time and culture change. She took over 700 pictures and videos and has some wonderful stories to share. It will take a while to organize this.

Our Sunday

This is a tale of our Sunday. Lucy went to a training day on how to use Skyler as a therapy dog. Unfortunately she was late due to a blown tire and a tire jack that was stuck and not useable.

Curtis' day was heavenly. He went to Big Basin.

Briana, Rob, Skyler and Shasta went to Sunol.

All of us eventually shared stories in the evening at home.

This is Gethsemane Pond, a very special place for Curtis each evening.

New Skylights

Today Curtis stayed home from work to watch other people, Rob (above) and Shawn, install the skylights. The installation is almost complete, it was a lot of work. The hot summer air can now go out the holes in the ceiling--very nice.

Darcy the Fire Dog

Darcy's puppy class visited a fire station tonight. She didn't want to go near the fireman in his gear with his air tank making that funny noise. And those big trucks sound mean with their hissing every few seconds. She though sure it was going to eat her up. But once it was off she was fine with it.

Kayak Trip

Lucy and Curtis went with a church group to Del Valle Lake for kayaking. It was great fun and an excellent workout. They were paddling for about 2 1/2 hours. It is surprising how the stomach muscles are involved in paddling. The weather was perfect and the surroundings were beautiful.

Curtis paddled from the kayak center (see map below) to the dam at the north end. Incidentally last week at the same time Curtis (and Jason) were sick aboard the sea fishing boat. I'll take the kayak any day.

The Story of the Birthday Present that was Sent to the Toilet

Lucy and Curtis decided to give Jason a special early birthday present so they signed him (and Curtis) up for deep sea fishing in Half Moon Bay with Half Moon Bay Sportfishing. Curtis and Jason were at the church at 4am today and drove to the dock. It was not long after leaving the dock that the depth of the mistake became fully apparent. Both Jason and Curtis (and most of the other fellows) became very sea sick. They spent about eight hours very nauseated and very cold (Jason was not as cold). Curtis was somewhat helped by the dramamine but Jason visited the toilet several times to releave the contents of his stomach (hence, the birthday that was sent to the toilet title). Curtis also visited this special place many times to releave the contents of the ailimentary canal from the other end.

No one on the boat caught any fish!
