South Africa

Briana is on her way to Johannesburg, South Africa. We are happy / sad.

A Morning Walk with Isaac

Isaac pushed the camera button on the above picture.
"Granddad, my feet don't reach the pedal."

We had the whole gymnasium to ourself. Isaac tried to pick up the ball but his feet would first tap the ball and then he would have to chase it again. It went on and on like that.
Sometimes he would bounce the ball.

"Granddad, I'm tired, you go get the ball, please."

Briana's Going Away Party (and a few other pictures)

We had a going away party for Briana. Tomorrow she is heading for Azusa and then on the 9th she flies to South Africa. She purchased the above computer so the hope is we can maintain good communications with her even so far away.

Rob is here for the send off.
But of course Briana is not very heavy.
Isaac and Skyler are special friends. Isaac is checking for flees or maybe he just likes to play with Skyler's ear.
We bought a bike trailor for Isaac. In the test drive he seemed to like it, though adjusting the helmet was not fun.
Isaac has special laughs for Mommy and Daddy.
Grandma liked the new aquarium.
The movie star takes a short break.
Curtis very much enjoys being with Isaac.
Jason has a special smile when he is with Isaac.
What a lovely family!

Monterey Bay Aquarium

The Monterey Bay Aquarium was really good but a thousand times better was watching Isaac's expressions of amazement. Oh, how special to see the world as a 15 month old!

Jason's Eye Surgery

Thursday, Aug. 13, Jason had eye surgery to replace the cornea and to work on the retina. This surgery was already done on the other eye. Pray for healing for Jason's eyes and for good vision for him. Jason is not supposed to pick up Isaac for a week.
This dog is Vanilla, not Skyler.
The movie star.
"Come play with me, Granddad", says the little boy.
Let's rest.
Isaac likes to dip his pancakes in syrup. He likes that whole dipping process--chicken nuggets in ketchup or whatever.

Isaac Proof Gate

Curtis worked very hard putting up a new self latching gate this weekend. When he got hungry all he had to do was grab a handful of grapes. Doesn't that sound fun?

Did I mention he worked very hard this weekend. About 20 hours worth.

That is a deep hole. Deeper than Isaac is tall.

Hard to tell these are the parts for the gate. Who said Curtis doesn't like to do puzzles?

Lucy painted all the slats.

Here is the finished product from the outside of the pond.

...and the inside.

He also got tired of grass and covered it all with bark.
