Visit with Tavo

We are visiting our beloved family in San Diego. Tavo has changed so much since we last visited, not the least is the huge "mop" of curly hair. Granddad is very jealous.

Tavo is trying his Wheely Bug Bumblebee, his 1st birthday present.He is very happy, at least when Gustavo or Trisha are around.

We went on a walk and had a "who's butt is the smallest contest."

An afternoon with family

Briana is temporarily back from school so the family went out to lunch. The star feature was of course a certain grandson, especially his laughter.

Isaac has even learned to suck on straws.

Best Friends Isaac and Skyler video

Have you ever seen the TV show called "Dog Whisperer"? The dog trainer has a concept called "calm-submission" where the dog enjoys perfect peace by calmly submitting (as opposed to attempting dominance) to the master. This video illustrates this. Skyler is in heaven as she calmly submits to her master, Isaac. Both Isaac and Skyler enjoy this time of love and devotion.

This is Isaac's one year family photo. I really like his expression. I think he is a bit frustrated that he has about 5000 pairs of shoes but here he does not have on any.

Isaac's Birthday Party

This is Isaac examining the cake, considering how to eat it.

Isaac thoroughly enjoyed his 1st birthday party cake, and the rest of us enjoyed watching but not touching the special boy as he ate.

Curtis took over a hundred pictures. Later more will be uploaded to facebook. Curtis can also create a CD of the pictures for those who request one.

Isaac had to have a bath after the cake., which did not please him at all.

Lucy and Curtis searched far and wide for a wheely bug for Isaac. The toy has received lots of awards and is from Australia. No we did not go to Australia to buy it, only Oakland.

The Walk

Tavo and Isaac have been focusing on their walking lately. One afternoon I got a call from Trisha that Tavo walked two steps. Then later in the evening I got a call from Jason that Isaac walked five steps. Soon I called Trisha and said, "Isaac calls Tavo's two steps and raises him three steps." Isaac's farthest so far is thirteen steps. We have a YouTube video of Isaac (click here) but not yet for Tavo.

Great Grandma's Mother's Day Present

This is a family tree made out of leather for Great Grandma (Grandma, Mom). It is a little hard to read it as a picture but I think it is passable. The "Cousins Collage" blog has the present that Lucy gave Mom. Mom also got a great sweatshirt from Dallas that I should have taken a picture of but did not.

Jason's Birthday

↑Of course Jason's party had to be centered on games. We played Tripoly for hours on a homemade cloth board.

↑Briana made a gluten free, chocolate cake that was very delicious.

↑Isaac is looking a little tired here, he only got a short nap that day while shopping at WalMart--someones favorite place to shop.

↑Briana gave Isaac a play, TV remote that of course had lots of fun sounds. Isaac liked it. Briana will not be able to be there at Isaac's one year old birthday party.
