Jason's Eye Surgery
Thursday, Aug. 13, Jason had eye surgery to replace the cornea and to work on the retina. This surgery was already done on the other eye. Pray for healing for Jason's eyes and for good vision for him. Jason is not supposed to pick up Isaac for a week.
This dog is Vanilla, not Skyler.
The movie star.
"Come play with me, Granddad", says the little boy.
Let's rest.
Isaac likes to dip his pancakes in syrup. He likes that whole dipping process--chicken nuggets in ketchup or whatever.

Scottish Games at Toro Park
Lucy and Curtis went with Marsha and Richard to the Scottish Games at Toro Park, near Salinas. It was a wonderful mix of good food, spirited music, amazing crafts, sheep and duck herding dogs, dancing that was beyond words, strange sports, soothing sounds of harps midst the gentle surrounding breeze and information on our heritage:
"The ancient roots of the Beeman family are in the Anglo-Saxon culture. The name Beeman comes from when the family lived near a mountain. This name was brought to England by the Normans, and is a corruption of the Norman French name Beaumont, which means beautiful mountain. It arrived in England shortly after the Norman Conquest of 1066. ... was spelled in different ways including Beman, Beeman, Bemon, Beemon, Bayman, Baymon, Bemen and these variations would occur even in references to the same person ... the Beeman family was found in Suffolk, where R. Beman was registered in 1283 ... Migrants bearing the Beeman surname, or a variant spelling of this name, include John Beman who arrived in Virginia in 1623 and William Beman in Virginia in 1774.
