Special moments with my son and grandson

Isaac and Curtis have a routine. When they get together at home they go out to the pond. Curtis first has to get his hat, and Isaac his too. Then they do a brief pond clean. Finally they drop rocks into the pond. Of course they do not throw the rocks. That would be a bad thing to learn, right? Curtis once broke a window with a rock. Later they examine the bears, originally given to Curtis by his Dad.

Ano Nuevo Beach

We spent the day with our church cell group at Ano Nuevo beach looking at the elephant seals. Did you know seals swim 20,000 miles a year, never drink water and their urine is orange?

In the above picture is the remains of a light house. Now the seals own it.
Above are the elephant seals. We did not get a good close up picture. We were told they were not as friendly as our dogs.

A Day at the Fair

The day was spent at the Alameda County Fair. Isaac thoroughly enjoyed the animals and pointing out all sorts of attractions. Sometimes he was not completely accurate. He seemed to think the rabbits were cats, which in this house is pretty bad. For this dog loving household a cat is a near curse word.
He especially liked the goats, which were quite aggessive. They would come up behind and start eating your shirt.

After the fair we went to McDonald's. Isaac liked the nuggets, fries and Mom's milkshake. Fair days are not for eating healthy.

A nice afternoon and evening felt spoiled by an incident when I got home. I found that Mom (Lorraine) had been sent to the hospital for chest pains. It turned out to be nothing. This same thing occurred 9/23/08 and 11/22/08. A 10/15/08 incident turned out to be real, a bladder infection that required hospitalization. Fremont Hills handled it all very poorly, not calling me on the cell phone and not calling her primary care doctor initially as they should.
How long, O Lord, must I endure this?
