An afternoon with family on a hot day

In the afternoon Lucy and Curtis spent the time with Jason, Carolyn and Isaac. Isaac has a new pool. Can a day be any more perfect than that--in the morning the beauty of nature and in the afternoon the beauty of family?

Henry Cowell State Park

Curtis went on a hike with the church TWEK group. It was beautiful.

This was the summit. After the hike we ate. Lucy met us there. She had a tennis match that she almost won.

Father's Day

After lunch with Mom (Lorraine) the rest of us went on a two hour walk.

This was taken at Fremont Hills, near the waterfall, which Isaac really liked.

Isaac has not yet developed a liking for slides. However, he loves the swing.

Happy Grandparents. It was a wonderful day with family. Jason, Carolyn and Isaac gave Curtis a Tandy Leather certificate and a picture cup with "Happy Fathers/Granddad Day" written on it--a real treasure.

Santa Cruz Renaissance Faire

Of course Lucy found some service dogs at the faire.

The costumes were amazing and realistic, I think. The swords were the best.

We found a criminal.

There was an amazing mix of characters. Can you tell which ones are Renaissance people?

Here is a retired service dog. I wonder if he also has a sword.

Isaac's New Swing

This boy is afraid of nothing. Isaac is now getting quite good at leading his Granddad around to Isaac's favorite activities. We rotate between books, the pond, random toys, the backyard and now the swing.

A Day with Isaac

While nursing a cold at home and between long naps, Curtis got to spend the day with Isaac.

This is the bear cub with the bear cub. Incidentally the wax bears were given to Curtis by his Dad. Also Jason gave Curtis the big rock that Isaac is sitting on.

Isaac liked playing in the water with Granddad.

Isaac was fearless and would happily liked to try walking on the water.

Tavo's Birthday Party

Sunday we went to church with Tavo, Trisha and Gustavo. We spent some time in the nursery and Tavo let us hold him when he slept. If Mommy or Daddy is 10 feet away he gets very upset.

The birthday party was at the YMCA where Trisha worked. It began with a nap by Tavo.

He likes the rings. Will he grow up to be a gymnast or a football player (or both)?

Gustavo and Benji had some wrestling fun.

Lucy cooked a gluten free cake for the party. It was delicious.

He enjoyed the cake, just like Isaac enjoyed his. However, Tavo seemed to like Trisha to feed it to him.

Tavo needed a bath after the cake, just like Isaac. Tavo got a bath in the YMCA sink.

Tavo still prefers crawling. By the way, he has four teeth.
