Visit in San Diego

Lucy and Curtis have been having a heartwarming and inspiring visit with Gustavo Jr. (Tavo), Trisha and Gustavo. Tavo has changed so much and as you can see he really enjoys communicating. You can't hear the sounds but there is no better sound than the laugh of a baby.

Tavo is learning about the floppy fish exercise.

We took Tavo to Old Town.

Bear Cub Shield

This shield is for Curtis' Grandson, Isaac. Isaac is the Bear Cub because Jason's alias is The Bear. Jason is big and strong like a bear. Isaac probably can't hold the shield for a few years but hopefully he'll appreciate it and understand the meaning eventually. The little lizard on the side has special significance. Curtis taught Jason to catch lizards with a strand of grass. Jason will certainly pass this valuable skill on to Isaac when he is old enough. Many more even more valuable skills and ways of life will also be hopefully passed from Dad to son to grandson.

Eagle Shield

Curtis made this foot wide diameter shield for his best buddy, Steve.

Vacation with Dennis and Suzi

We have been enjoying the visit of Dennis and Suzi from Dallas. Of course the biggest thrill of all is our grandson, Isaac.

This is Mom, aka Grandma and aka Great Grandma, at her home at Vista.

Doesn't Carolyn look like the perfect Mom?
Isaac loves to stand.
Curtis really likes to hold Isaac.
... but sometimes both Isaac and Curtis get tired.
Lucy also gets a turn with the Grandson on the rocking chair.
Here is a tired Daddy.
We went for a wild walk with the five dogs to the ball field for a run.

Discovery Kingdom 2008

Here we are in the picnic area for Curtis' work picnic at Discovery Kingdom, formerly Marine World. It was a hot day with lots of people. But fun to spend time with family. I think Isaac was our main attraction. We watched him more than anything else.

The white tiger didn't do a whole lot. Did you know tigers swim? They also love 2% milk. It is like ice cream to them. So I guess if you are about to be attacked by a tiger pull out a bottle of milk and you are safe.

Here is a funny creature we came across.

I mean two funny creatures! .......... No, four!
Okay, make it five.
Curtis and the tiger! Whoops! He forgot the milk. Curtis survived the tiger attack. But I don't know that he survived the day.
Isaac ready for a good nights sleep.....hopefully! Other than being hot he did great!
